I have 2 runners and 3 khaki Campbell ducks and we’re starting to think about building a duck enclosure for them in our garden as they’re just getting their adult feathers. We have a large area with a pond and we’re converting an old play house into their house, my dad just wants some inspiration on what the nesting boxes inside the house should be like. Any advice would be appreciated :) thanks

Actually give them nice comfy soft bedding and they will use that. My ducks just lay their eggs in their bedding. Might want to block off a small area for privacy.
Ok thanks! That’s what we were thinking. A few of the duckies like sitting on raised boxes at night so my dad’s thinking of building a slightly raised platform with a ramp and sides to keep the bedding in. Is that a good idea? Thanks :)

When I first got my ducks, straw was recommended over shavings. I have found they like when it's 4 inches deep or more and each night they shape a little nest in the corner of their house and usually all the girls lay in the same nest. They seem to like to cover up all the eggs with the straw before they go outside, so I do have to search around a little, but 95% of the time the eggs are all in the same corner. Depending on the size of the playhouse you could partition off one corner to be darkest and most secure and they will likely use it to lay.
