My favorite rooster was a Crested Polish.I know Polish hens are famous for being easy to pick on, but maybe a roo would do well?
The rooster was extremely easy to handle and snuggle, he had tons of personality, he was decent size, protective and always on the lookout, and full of personality.
Plus he was gorgeous
I had to give him up due to some neighbors complaints but I miss him so much!! Actually since you're in western MA you could check out Nevin's Farm Shelter because that's where he ended up haha
