My partner has acquired 3 lost pigeons. He's had 1 for 2 years, the 2nd 1 has had eggs with the first. The third 1 arrived a few months ago. He's sold his house and moved the birds to an aviary in his friends garden until the sale of his new house has gone through. They have been in the aviary almost 3 week now. We're hoping to move them into an aviary in his garden in the next couple of week. Also if this helps the couple have eggs in their nest. Does anyone have any advice please. Do you think they'll stay at the new house or fly back to his friends or old house? How long should we keep them locked up in their forever home? I'm very worried about this. Thank you

If they have been allowed to free fly, they will most likely return to their original home.

The adult homing pigeons (Belgium blood line) I have tried to re-home I have had mixed results. I have always kept them prisoner for at least 3 clutches of off spring and 6 out of ten of my birds have stayed. The other four were back to their original loft 100 miles away by supper time.
