Advice needed. Time sensitive.

I’m very concerned about my 6 chickens. I don’t know what to do with this weather coming. It will be here in 11 hours according to the time given.

Another thing to note is that my chickens are losing feathers on their necks. I believe they’re in the process of molting. I’m worried the intense cold might do some damage.

What should I do to help my chickens through this storm and cold?

Any advice will be appreciated.

What does your coop look like? Do you have a garage?

I bought a couple of the radiant heaters from TSC to help mine. I also use a reptile heat lamp with a red bulb for my roo with the big comb.

I don’t know if heating is necessary for you, that’s just what I do .

Chickens don't get cold easily. They are fine in the teens.... its cold wind drafts and getting wet and cold that will kill em. Protect from the wind and rain. They are find buried in snow and with snow on the ground.

I do not have a garage, but I do have a basement with a concrete floor.

The first time with chickens, yes. The last time I had a cold like this, I had to bring in my rabbit when she was alive. That was 2022 I think.

Do you think I could put them in my basement?
