My hen angel has eyp. I tried getting an appointment for her to get a hysterictomy but unfortunately where I live it is exorbitantly priced ($1600-$1700 range). So my vet just gave my chicken some baytril tablets which I have to give for 7 days. Today is day 2 on the tablets and today she is very hot in the abdominal area which indicates that she has an bacterial infection. She is going downhill pretty fast, her abdominal is not rock hard but hard like a tight waterballoon. Is that drainable and could any of you offer me any advice on how I could drain with a helper? If you could get back to me as soon as possible that would be great. I would have to buy the supplies first thing tomorrow morning and drain her then. -Thanks in advance for help
i also pm'd my question to speckledhen because she has done draining before but posted here if she can't respond to me in time. So if anyone can help me I would appreciate it. Thanks so much.
edit- I meant baytril not bayer, fixed it.

I bought the supplies a few hours ago, was trying to go earlier but for some reason my alarm clock didn't go off which sucks because my helper left for work and won't be back until tonight so I will have to drain her tonight. I just feed her with a syringe and gave her the baytril tablets. I hope the baytril knocks out the infection.
