I have two questions. First, do earbuds with volume control adjust the volume of the device they are connected to, or the volume of the earbuds themselves? Second, how do you like inner ear earbuds? I think they would be uncomfortable, but I have never had them. Thanks!

Mine (etymotic) control the device's volume (iPhone). For the most part I don't mind the inner ear aspect. They aren't as comfortable as the less invasive buds, but I needed the sound blocking for my noisy work environment. You can get buds custom made to fit your ear - I imagine they would be more comfy.

I got some for when I cut the grass. They have foam around them, and feel just like ear plugs.Way better than the hard plastic ones you lay in the ear. I am constantly adjusting the volume due to the songs themselves, and the mower issue.

I don't know the name of the ear buds, but I am paying $3 for them at the discount store. I get one every few trips to the store when they have them, though I am still on my first. My daughter uses regular over the ear headphones, and the sound goes out in one side every few months.Mine are still going storng after 3 months.
