Advice on letting shipped eggs.."rest"

Ok i'm expecting some eggs via usps and I want to know all about letting them rest....which is better letting them rest overnight or at least several hours...or letting them rest for 1 or 2hrs then putting them in the bator and not turning the first days? and how many days do you not turn them exactly? and do you put them in an egg carton pointy end down to let them rest? and any other advice Please!!!

I was told to let them sit in an egg carton pointed side down for 12 hrs.

I have always let mine rest for 8-12 hours in an egg carton large end up.

Thank you! I tried looking through the search engine here and I found some threads but they gave all the info i mentioned and I wasn't sure what worked best....I would thinking letting them rest longer before putting them in the bator is best.
