advice on my two new free rangers

ok so i finally got the coop and run rebuilt and chased down the two free rangers that came with our new house from the old tennent. did some looking around and im pretty sure ive ended up with a leghorn and a RIR any tips or advice on what i should get in thier system to make sure they are healthy and free from and disease?

How do those two free birds look, in general? Are you able to speak to theirprevious owners? You might be lucky, and learn that you have some very healthy birds, already medicated. Won't hurt to ask.

if you can catch them and hold them give them a good look over. any mites? are they a good weight or boney? Assuming these are hens I would buy some crushed oyster shell, a bag of grit, and layer feed. Also I would get some food grade de and sprinkle that in the coop and in the places they like to take dust baths, I would also mix it in with the layer feed. Wear a mask while dealing with the DE.

Anyway put a container of the grit, and one of the oyster shell where they can get to it as needed and a feeder for the layer feed and waterer.

if they have mites you can deside what method you would like to use as there are many. a good dusting and putting Apple Cider Vinager in their water (tablespoon/per gallon or so get the Bragg brand with the "mother") will help keep them bug free.

make sure they have a nest box and you should be getting breakfast soon

maybe put a golf ball in the new nest box to show them where to lay.

no acctually te house was abondoned by the previous owner and sat unrented for about 8 months the flock was originally about 30 birds or so , but the realty company tore down the coop and run wen tey cleaned the place out and let them roam, these are the only two that we able to evade the local predators for this long, as for health the sure can run, cause it took me a good bit of sprinting to finally get the two, but thats about all i know... should i just pick up some water soluble antibiotic and de wormer just to make sure or cross my fingers and hope. my main concern is the wofe wants to start collecting eggs to feed the family and i dont want to make anyone sick.

i would not treat with the dewormer or any antibiotics especially if you want to eat the eggs.

There is a good chance they are healthy and dont need to be dewormed and certainly do not need antibiotics.

the things I listed are all natural, you can feed them blended pumpkin seeds (raw) and butter milk for a deworming if you think they need it.

I would say that just the basic food and oyster shell and grit is really all they need. but if you can post pics that will help us see their condition.

Almost everything I mentioned can be bought at your local feed store.

thanks i went out for a few hours today to get the stuff to make an autofeeder and watterer and when i came home there was an egg in the corner i dont even have a nesting box in there yet, so considering theyve been eating off the land im hopeing this is a good sign, the wifes gonna have me be the guinee ig for the first egg to see if i get sick or not, and i guess well go from there

If ya wanna make friends, and feed em up healthy... mix some plain full-fat yogurt with some Sunflower hearts and cracked corn.... they LOVE it, and they'll figure YOU are the provider of the treat, and get friendlier.
AND it is a good pro-biotic, and the sunflower seeds very healthy!
