Advice on new Chicks

Below is my coop pics -
The hen is brooding in the box in the coop - question is when the chicks hatch, do i need to put food and water in the coop or can they make it down the ladder? i know they cant come back up but i figure she will sleep on the ground and cover them?

I would say put it in the coop for a little while until the chicks can actually make it down the ladder without the chance of hurting themselves. By the way they can survive for three days without food and water when they first hatch.
