Advice on sick hen?

So, the matter at hand is Lightning’s eye. It looks like it’s a little swollen, and it’s crusty where the eyelids meet. Her other one is fine, but I haven’t seen her open her sick eye all day.

A side question: her wings look a bit small, and seem to be in an awkward position. She’s been like that since she was a chick. Ignoring one who was eaten by a wild animal, all 4 other chicks that I bought with her (same breed, age, and store) died as chicks, less than a week after purchase. Do you think a nutrient deficiency at a young age could be why her wings look so silly?

I don't know how about the wing issue, but for the eye, it looks like she could have gotten pecked or stung. You could try gently rinsing with a saline eye wash and then apply terramycin (which can be found at Tractor Supply) or plain Neosporin.

Here's a comment, from an experienced health advisor here on BYC, that I saved from another thread regarding an eye issue:

Thank you. All my other birds look normal, so I’m guessing it’s just a cold or something. As a disabled woman, I already had a few bottles of saline water, so I rinsed her eye with that, and gave her some spare eye drops that I’ve used on birds before.

Also, on closer inspection, her wings are very small. I don’t think she can fly like the others, but she is good at running and jumping.

It's difficult to tell from the pic you posted, but it does seem as though she has usually tiny wings! That is strange. It could just be that she has had a malformation since hatch. Other than the eye issue, does she act normal in her typical day-to-day with the teeny wings?

Yup. When I caught her and put eye drops on her, she was squawking and trying to get away, just like any animal would. Me and my mom calmed her down, and when we were done, we put her back over the fence into the chicken pen. She was about a foot of the ground and she tried to fly out of my mom’s hands, but it ended up being more like a jump. So I don’t think she can fly, but I saw her wings fully stretched, and they looked about half the size of a normal hen’s wings.
