Advice on what breed to get?

Hi everyone heading to tractor supply as they got babies in. I was wondering if anyone can make a suggestion for best breeds to get. Need to be good layers, and nice temperament for and one that can free range. If you here is what they have.

Production blues
Buff orpingtons
Rhode Island reds
Barred rock
Cornish reds? (Lady had an accent on phone)
Black copper marans
Welsoners
Jersey giant
Silver lace leg horn
Dark brahma gold six link

This was the best I could do with the country accent and many I'm not familiar with.

Orpington are the friendliest and just note some breeds don't get along together...

Blues are Easter eggers. May lay blue eggs.
Orps & rir & rocks lay a good amount of creme to brown eggs.
Marans & welsummers possibly dark brown eggs but don't expect an egg a day.
Cornish is a breed made for production meat. You have to butcher them before their legs break from weight.
Jersey & Brahma are large breeds. Make sure you have room.
If you just want a pretty basket of eggs. Get a couple marans, blues, rir, orps, maybe a leghorn.

Production Blues are a cross between RIR and blue Australorp, they should be bluish colored birds and good layers of brown eggs. I just got two myself, hoping they are not males. Not sure about their temperament though.

Orpingtons are pretty friendly to people like @chickens really said and they're good layers. I have some they're nice. They are NOT nice to other chickens though, unlike my EE.

RIR are good layers but they have a dominant temperament. So, if you get any don't be surprised it they're head of the flock.

Leghorns are supposed to be one of the greatest layers, but they're said to have a flighty temperament. I haven't owned any myself though (yet!) so I can't vouch for that.

As for the rest @BGook nailed it! Barred Rocks should lay pretty well for you, don't know about temperament though.

I think the op will figure out crazy chickens have their own special personalities just like people.
I have a splash wyndotte mix that begs for me to hand feed her. An ameraucana that wants food & treats but runs away like a wild animal if I toss her some scratch.

Our isa browns are like this. They prefer to be hand fed. Really sweet birds

She will attempt to land on my shoulder if I ignore her.

I had a blue ameraucana roo that was fine if you picked him up and his black bro would bounce off of anything if you atempted to pick him up. Raised together.
Had a small rir hen that wasn't at the top of the pecking order and she would flog my pug every chance she got. Others ignored him in the yard.
