So, your precious baby chick isn't drinking. Don't get rid of the chick, save it.
My advice: watch the chick for a whole day and give the chick plenty of chances to drink. If the chick doesn't drink for that whole day, follow these steps: first find an eye-drop bottle, second take the eye-drop bottle and clean it thoroughly, third after eye-drop bottle is cleaned thoroughly put water in bottle then add a tiny amount of sugar, forth screw on cap and bottle feed chick. It should look the same as when your bottle feeding a baby, only you'll be bottle feeding a baby chicken.;)

P.s. if this doesn't work your choices are: #1 take the chick to a vet, #2 get a new chick, #3 hope for the best. :/

I tried dipping my chicks beak in over and over she still wouldn't drink. The result was the. chickie-bottle its just like a baby bottle only smaller and also you control the the amount of water that comes out. Thanks anyway!!!:)

dipping the chicks beak will only show the chick where the water is and comes from. So hopefully when the chick is thirsty it will know where to go. Hope it catches on for you :p

i always dipped my finger in the water then pointed my finger to the floor. a drop forms on my finger tip. i show it to the chick and the chicks instinck is to peak. this is how i get them aquanted with water.

BTW chicks will drink when there ready. the yolk provides them with enough to last 3 days.
