I'm using a foam still-air incubator (the cheap kind from Farm and Fleet) with an additional automatic turner. This is the 4th year I've used it and for some reason the temperature won't stabilize. It fluctuates between 97.5 degrees F and 100.4 degrees F.

I can't turn it up when it gets down to 97 because then it shoots up to 102 (better cool than hot, right?). Humidity is pretty stable in the mid-30s.

I'm thinking that the thermostat is shot after 4 years. Any suggestions?

Oh and I have 24 eggs in it already due to hatch April 26th. and I'm in a classroom, so I really don't want to disappoint my students. (and I'll be heartbroken if they don't hatch!

Thanks!!!!!

If it won't stabilize, I would leave it at the first setting. Your hatch may be shortened or delayed, but that's better than throwing them out.

Mine's a Hovabator and it's been doing that since day one. I thought that was normal.

My babies have hatched from it just fine. Good luck!

First, do you have any of the plugs out? this can help stablize! If you would like I can give you insructions for a really cheap but very good inc. It's the one I use! The only one I will use after trying a store bought one! You can regulate it and then put youe eggs in it! PM me!
