We are in the market for an incubator, I am hoping to get some advice from my BYC peeps before our purchase. SO that being said what do you guys and gals feel is the best bator for the money.

I just got a Brinsea ECO 20 with autoturner. My first hatch is in there now. The temps hold rock solid. It is very hands off. Which is great for me because I work a lot. However, it only holds 24 chicken eggs.

24 eggs seems like plenty to me but I haven't started to incubate yet

I'm only on my first hatch, using a Little Giant still air. It was just under $50. I didn't use the fan or auto turner for this hatch and so far all of my duck eggs that were fertile are rocking with some starting to pip and 8/13 shipped eggs are rocking. I have had some fluctuating temps but it wasn't the incubator, we heat our house with wood so our house temp can range from 50-80 depending on weather and if the fire goes out in the night. I was a little worried after reading lots of negative reviews on the LG's but mine works great!!

Good luck on your babies

I am also using a little giant still air, although we added a fan. I set the eggs in yesterday morn and had some issues with the temp but I plugged one of the holes and I haven't had any fluctuations. Holding steady at 100* on 3 thermos for almost 24 hrs. Pretty egg-cited about that!! Just to mention, mine is a borrowed one. I am testing this on my own eggs for right now as I want to buy some eggs that are a little expensive and I want to have it right. If this works out, I will be looking for my own bator!

I am weighing in with the Hova either the 1602N (about 140) with the fan kit or the 1588 (about 200) which is a preset. The 1588 is a plug and play IMO, and once you get the 1602 set it holds wonderfully. I just add water to the sponges I keep in there every other day or so depending on the humidity in my house. Oh and they hold 42 eggs each.
