Hi all I have two separate pens I need advice on.
In pen 1 I have ten hens and cockerel. About ten days ago I noticed nearly all my hens had swollen crops . They to eat well and have a good varied diet . I just kept a eye on them and all but two now have swollen crops. These pair are quite old and as swollen as they both look they are eating drinking and pooing and doing all the usual chicken stuff. I held both chickens as well and cannot smell a foul odour u would associate with a sour crop . I am a bit miffed , also my local vets aren't chicken friendly although they do try
My second problem is my hen in my other pen. Her and a cockerel have lived happily together for a while but in last few days she has acted a little lethargic again eating and drinking ok. She sits a lot and proofed up her feathers also she makes a noise like when they have a dirt bath. She seems to want to close her eyes a lot too .
All are warrens , big thanks in advance
