Hi guys I've currently rescued 5 hens which I do yearly. This morning I found her hiding and cowering as they are currently going through the pecking order. I have slowly introduced them but still give them breaks away from each and I know injuries can happen etc. I have sprayed her with vetericyn and given her a Epson bath. Is there anything else I can do for a quick recovery please natural or something I can order? Thank you 😊 she is currently separated

Oh poor thing.

Do you already have them on vitamin water every other day or so? That would give them a little boost with the healing too. We use Poultry Cell mostly.

For her, I'd do what you're doing to keep it clean with Epsom salt baths as I bet that feels good to her too. I'd use some Neosporin or generic triple antibiotic ointment (without the painkiller) just to keep that more moist while she heals.

It looks like she has prolapsed, which usually is the result of straining to lay. Giving calcium citrate with vit D, in addition to cleaning and keeping it moist as you are doing, may help her pass an egg. Tums, if you have them is a decent emergency source of calcium. Open her beak and put it in her mouth, she can swallow it.

White foamy? By chance does it stink? Vent gleet is white or yellowish gunk oozing out of vent and it reeks. She may have that too.

If so, treatment is to smear generic Monistat on her vent. Squeeze out about 1/2 inch and she can have orally. Do this twice a day and you should see improvement.
