Hi all, I'm new to duck breeding and I have a question. I hatched four eggs four weeks ago and I think we have three ducks and one Drake, husband disagrees. I have two photos of them when hatched. I understand you can tell by the beak. Please could someone have a look and give me their opinion.
Thanks ☺️View attachment 2361376

Looks like a malon the left, and a female on the right.
It may not be a female though. I wouldn't use her for breeding because she doesn't have a very distinct beak.
If you get a duckling with a very pink bill with a dark 'chip' (as I call it), that one would be best for breeding.
This way its easiest to tell them apart, and you want the best genetics when breeding them.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the rely. I'm not sure which photo you saw. There was one in the incubator and another one when they were snuggled up. Were you referring to the incubator image?

The incubator one. I cant really tell from the other.
I would maybe take separate pics of each of them to be able to really tell
