Hey people I just got two chicks and need some advice about caring for them.

make sure you have a brooder set up with a heat lamp, the brooder can be a kiddie pool or a plastic bin or whatever really, hang the heat lamp over it. if the chicks are huddling under the lamp they are too cold and move it closer but if they are crowding against the edges of the brooder they are too hot and move it away some. provide all the chick starter they can eat in a feeder (just allow them access to it 24/7). make sure they have plenty of good water to drink. lay down pine shavings on the bottom of the brooder to absorb messes and give them something to grip when they walk

I'm trying to get my silkie hen to sit on some fertilized eggs but she won't stay on the nest. I want some more chicks. How can I get her to go broody?

i just tagged my chicks with zip ties, i put them loosely on them but they wont stop pecking them. there small blue zip ties and i am worried its irritating them.
