I have 12 laying ladies that love to lay eggs in one nest box, when there are four to choose from. They will even sit together in the same nest box to lay in just that one. Any advice on how to get them to lay in the other boxes?
Ive tried false eggs, moving the already layed eggs to another box, some light, no light....what am i doing wrong? :/ because they are laying all in the same nest, im losing about 5 eggs a week. And the most eggs ive collected at the same time out of the box is 8. And found the 9th in a bush.

Sometimes hens just all flock to a certain nest. You've done everything right. My best advice would be to block off the nest they love and not allow them lay in bushes, grass, etc. (Confine them to the coop if you have to.) One other trick you might try is putting all fake eggs in the other nests and not have ANY eggs in the one they like.

At least 2 of my 21 week old pullets have laid 7 eggs in the last week. Nice, well-formed eggs. Problem is one is laying on floor in coop and today one egg was in the run. I have 6 nest boxes with fake eggs in all but 2. One lays in box with fake egg. Any suggestions for changing the non-conforming one?

4 of my hens lay in our beautiful, clean nesting boxs. One hen prefers a pile of poo in the poo hammock.so gross. what is she thinking?
Going to change the poo hammock so it is less desirable for her. Gross though!

I recently reported that at least one pullet is laying in other than nest boxes. Well today all 3 eggs (only 3 of 10 are beginning to lay) were in their proper place. Like I was advised "you're doing the right thing....just be patient." 3 down and seven to go. Hope remaining 3 barred rocks & 4 RIRs learn so quickly.

I have the same thing with most of the girls wanting to lay in the same box and piling up to lay. I just removed the divider between the favorite and the next box to create more of a communal box. I found this results in far fewer broken eggs and and less eggs layed in the coop floor by hens who can't wait for their turn in the box
