I have searched the forum and most say 8 weeks. Mine are 2 weeks old, 3 runners. My daytime temps are 80-90 with night time temps in the upper 60s-70s. The duck house is almost totally enclosed, no drafts, with the front open. There will be a heat lamp. I feel that they will be ok, but it is my first time with ducks and am at a loss and would like you all experts to weigh in.
Thanks
James

Keep those messy buggers in my house until 8 weeks?

My ducks are usually evicted out about 3 weeks when they go into their own outside coop. Then I introduce them to the others about 12 weeks

good, i was ready for them to go out. i had no idea the mess of ducks, am not sure that they are worth it. i got runners for garden pest control, eggs and antics.

I know just how you feel, but don't question their worth! They eat every insect imaginable! (One of my three swallowed a dragon fly this morning!) They are worth their weight in gold, especially if you have layers! Their eggs are second to none in baking!
Enjoy them!!!

Thanks, I am going to give it a try and hope that I have some broody chickens this fall or next spring so that I don't have to keep them inside again. I am also going to have to try guineas this year as the ticks are horendous, my wife has already had a bout with lymes disease and taking medicine now. don't know how that will work out but have to try things to see.

It gets 50-60 outside here but I kicked mine out at 3 weeks. Too many of them and too big (plus we had a second batch of babies come that needed the space in the house). Their house is closed and draft free. I have a heat lamp on at night. They have been out there almost 2 weeks now and have been doing fantastic!
