My wife and I have agreed to take possession of 24 bantams. There are 22 hens and 2 roosters. We are planning on building a coop that is 8' x 10' and giving them 2 runs that are each 16' x 16'. These bantams are about 10 months old. Are we on the right track?

We weren't real excited about taking 2 roosters, but the owner wanted us take all or none. These chickens seem to be very docile and pretty well settled in to the same type lifestyle we will be giving them. It's a new venture for us.

I hope you enjoy having chickens as much as I do. Roosters that were raised together tend to get along. Sometimes changes in the flock can upset the pecking order, but the rooster probably will be fine. I like having roosters around.

There might be some fussing as they settle in to a new place.

Do post some pics here of your chickens, coop and run when you get them.
