Goofy is the flock oddball. In both chickenality and general behavior. She typically lays her eggs in a nest, but occasionally will leave one somewhere in the run or toss bomb them into the run, from up on the roost. One of her oddities, is variation of eggs shapes. Usually they seem pretty standard, but sometimes the seem elongated to quite some extent. Perfect in all other respects, with the normal single yolk. Is that an indication of a problem or just a foible on her part?

I also do not consider it a sign that there are any medical or physical problems. Whether round like a ping pong ball or torpedo shaped, it's just the egg they lay. Most hens lay the same shape of egg every time though, as always, there can be exceptions.

I don't know if that is genetic or not. I sometimes hatch those round or torpedo eggs if I'm having a meat hatch but I try to not keep the chicks from those as breeders just in case it is genetic.
