This is probably a better place to put this

I was walking by the vitamin section at TSC and saw a permethrin aerosol can for barns and coops.
That can’t be safe for their lungs can it?
They also say for hotel use???? ??? ??? Really?! Haha
What is y’all doing experience and knowledge?

I doubt you spray and stay in the room.

But the can said it goes in a barn or coop.
I've seen it used at a horse barn...while the horses are out to pasture.
I haven't tried it on my coop but I don't see why one couldn't use it while the birds were out free ranging.

I avoid aerosols always, for everything. If nothing else, they are madly expensive per volume, not to mention bad to inhale, and getting the right amount of permethrin in the right places would be way more difficult.

I don’t use an aerosol, but I have used the permethrin 10 liquid concentrate, mixed with water, in a spray bottle and a garden sprayer. It is very for chickens to spray on them when mixed correctly, and to spray coops, nest boxes, and roosts after first removing and getting rid of all bedding. I would not use it if I raised bees, but it is safe and lasts for 30 days. Martins and Gordons are both good brands. Follow mixing instructions uunder the label.
