This morning I looked out my window and to my surprise my run was empty! I thought for sure I had a automatic door failure and the girls were locked in, when I got out to the coop I found the door open and everyone inside looking out the window at me. Typically the door opens at 5:30 and the ladies are out by 5:31, I stood there and looked for signs of a attempted intrusion by a predator but saw nothing, I talked to my girls and in short order they all came out on their own. What would cause them not to come out on a beautiful morning?

Hi and

I would suspect something overhead. Look to the skies and see if you see anything unusual. We have hawks, which are a big worry but it may also be something less threatening that startled your girls.

Or they were up partying all night and had a sleep in.
