Hey everyone. It’s that time of year again, so of course I’m gonna go buy some baby animals :caf I absolutely love the look of African geese, but I don’t know if I can put up with the constant screaming that all the African geese owners talk of. Are female African geese super noisy? My female Sebastopol is so quiet, so I was curious as to how a female African would compare.

If you find a pure bred African goose. They will generally be quiet but personality will varies with each one.If you get a hatchery African they tend to have some brown Chinese genes in them which will make the more nosier.I have two Hatchery Africans they can be loud at times. But for the most part are quiet.

Master of clucker helped me with my what I now know to be as Hatchery African Geese. I just got them yesterday. They are very very loud.... but I expect this to diminish more and more daily unless someone comes here or a predator is around.
I'll attach the videos for you. Also some pics.

That is so helpful, thank you!
You're very welcome. I must say I do feel bad for the 1 neighbor we have next to us. He must think, "what in the world is that?!"
With just getting then 1 day ago they have improved a lot. But if you have chickens or ducks be careful... at least in my experience so far the geese keep chasing my drakes away. They haven't bothered my roosters but they do try to keep the Male ducks away from the females. I'm not sure how to address that yet. It might stop, it might not. Not sure yet...
I always heard they guard and protect the flock but it seems these 2 particular geese only want to protect the hens or females of any sort.

Neither of my geese want any breeding to go on besides themselves. If my drakes try to mate with the geese around they will run up screaming same with roosters an hens just part of being a goose I guess. But if you have a gander he may want to mate with a duck hen if she gets in the pool and he is in it too. My gander mated with Muscovys until I brought home s female goose for him. He never hurt one.
