Fertility has been great and I thought I would share some photos of size comparison of two coturnix, one from Africa and the other that Migrates all over, the Japanese Coturnix...

In this photo the Harlequin on the left

I have always had them. I just don't talk much about them...they are the quiet forms of the coturnix and are as tame as a coturnix. They are a coturnix after all.

Behavior...the males act like the male coturnix...impatient they hop out, they peck at your hand, the females are a little more timid. What is also cute is that the males act also like Button quail and love to court their mates with mealworms, a piece of food, etc.

They are not as small as Button quail but are smaller than a pharaoh Coturnix. So in between. They sound like crickets but are awfully quiet.

I forgot to ask you as I was pulling myself away from hitting the order button for your Africans....What size are the eggs compared to the Japs? Do you have a pic of the egg size diff?
Probably on your website but I'll go there too.

Are they as cold hardy as regular Coturnix or are they more like a Button int hat respect. A smaller Coturnix would be nice or perhaps a calmer button.
