African soft fur rats; are they a good snack for young chickens?

Hello! I'm thinking of breed ASFs for my baby snake and was wondering if my 3 month old chicks could eat them and learn how to hunt small rodents?

I don't think that would work well with 3 month old chicks.
An adult chicken may learn to go after rats, but they're more likely to be successful with small mice, and maybe not at all.
Honestly at our old place where there were quite a lot of both rats and mice thanks to a neighboring farmers practices... none of our many breeds of chickens ever learned to catch either.
In fact, I had a 3 month old killed and eaten by a rat one night. Wild rats will go after anything that holds still long enough for them to start chewing, and are pretty clever about getting in / out of places. I would be very careful about letting any live rodents outside.
