Hi there,
My husband didn't want chickens...until he chopped down my beloved Magnolia tree in an overzealous fit of "clean up the yard". This normally laid back "chick" had a wifely fit of EPIC proportions. 2 hours into it, he offered chickens. 3 hours into it he offered chickens and bees and I decided I could cope. (The tree sprouted back from the stump!)
We didn't have the time then...and then were caught up in a whirlwind of moving to a new state. TO A HOUSE WITH A COOP. It took a few years to settle, but this summer I ordered 6 golden laced wyandotte day old girls; the company sent 7. I now have 7 healthy girls who are about 7 weeks old!
Unfortunately, I decided to sign up instead of just lurk due to an emergency with the neighbor's dog. Cross your fingers for the only one I had named: Matilda Sassparilla. She has a hurt leg and a shock.
