(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We just got our first chickens today! I have been studying and obsessing for about 2 years, and now we finally have our girls (hopefully not roos because of rooster bans).
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? We have four 5-7 day old chicks.
(3) What breeds do you have? We have a buff Orpington, an Ameraucana (not sure which color), a Polish, and a Barred Rock.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? I googled the phrase "urban chicken farming"
Right now our chicks are in the basement in a brooder I made. We are hoping to have the coop built in a few weeks, and by then it should be warm enough in Minnesota for them to be outside (by the time they are 5-6 weeks old). I am very excited to see the ladies grow up and can't wait to get some eggs! Any information and advice is definitely appreciated!
