I don't know how many are having a problem with this but here are some faster ways to do the top and bottom rolls.
So you know what I did, in the pattern it says, to cut 3 & 7/8 inches. I DID NOT DO THAT. I made them 4 inches. This way you have a little room if you make a mistake. But not much.
DO NOT CUT THE 4 SQUARES IN HALF THAT TAKES TOO LONG.
This will be the top and bottom of the block and goes so much faster then what the pattern is telling you. Take one of the beige and blue 4 squares and place them with the right sides together [/b. You will mark a diagonal line. Now sew a scant ¼ from that line. ( a scant means just a hair smaller then ¼). Once you sew down both sides you will cut on the solid line. Open them up and this will give you 2 squares. You need 8 for each block. Iron them and from the back iron the seam to the dark side.
After they are ironed they should measure 3 ½ inches. If they are bigger you will need to cut them down to measure 3 and ½ inches.
Does that help anyone?
TammyTX, your right, 12 and 1/2 inches done.
