After Christmas I would like to do a block swap. Update first post

Glad to hear that Jean has such good care at home!

Mema please take care of yourself!

I've been trimming and pinning for the next sewing session while watching the weather coverage. We are now just getting a beautiful snow...on top of some dreadful ice buildup. Only lost our cable last night but it's back on now. The sister-in-law is without powere and on a generator. Our poor cows had icicles hanging from their ears and tails today and were wearing ice jackets when we went to feed this morning. My Nasty Nesty hen in the hen house is still sitting tight on a clutch of eggs. With the weather we have had the past two storms, I really doubt they will hatch, but I had to take pity on her and let her sit on them. She is quite content. but really growl-ly.

I was actually looking for some "Skittles" items to get some ideas for our youngest daughters room. She loves skittles and I ran across that site and they had Keds with skittles and then I just typed in Chickens and those shoes popped up. Aren't they just to stinkin cute. I may splurge and get me a pair. I haven't had a new pair of shoes in about....oh.....8 or 9 years. I think it may be time for a pair. hehehe

we have tons of snow and ice which is very rare and it is still coming down. I hope my chickens will make it through this weekend. Just can not get hubby too fix my run and coop too block off the north wind and cold. but they are in the coops and hopefully will keep each other warm. I will be glad when this mess leaves here. I looked out of one of my bedroom windows and noticed the stop light up town is blinking red. Don't know if it has quit or the policeman turned it on because it would be hard for people too stop at the red light. I sure hope we don't lose power. The last time we lost power it was off for days. Don't know how I survived it as we only have electric heat but Lord willing next year if I am still living I will have some gas heat too fall back on. Yall take care if you are having bad weather or anything.

Hoping your chicken keep warm too. We have a kerosine heater we keep in case of emergencys. But this winter we are using it at night while we are awake. We turn it off when we go to bed. I hope your power doesn't go off either. Are you feeling better?

Just finished pressing my last block...I'm Done!!!!

Now I get to sit back and

enjoy reading about everybody's progress.

Any thoughts on how you will put your blocks together?
I'm thinking of using borders on the outside and maybe sashing in between the blocks.

NanaKat sounds like you didn't lose power. We haven't either. I'm just sooo glad. A power outage makes for days of just sweeping and doing dishes, no computer, no TV, no sewing machine, no iron, nothing that has to do with electricity. And, everything I think of to do involves electric!!! Boy are we spoiled!!!

I think I'll do my quilt like you suggested. I have enough of my fabric left for borders and sashes. Sounds good to me.

Take care out on the ice everyone.

We missed the bullet...So glad to hear you are safe. I'm knitting a stocking cap for the littlest grandson right now. Then I need to start cutting pieces for a new baby quilt for my niece.

This storm is moving east to some of our BYC friends. Can't imagine this storm dropping sooooo much wet stuff. Hope everybody is safe and warm.

I talked to Acre last night and she said it started snowing there. We don't have any and it can stay south I don't want it. I want spring and flowers and bees and anything else hot.
