I hatced 25 eggs in an incubator yesterday and couldnt decide what to do with them I have 1 broody that I isolated and gave her a safe place in the coop of her own with 8 eggs about 2 weeks ago. My plan was to get her to adopt the babies after they were hatched and add them in with her own. I could not find anything on adopting 25 plus chicks. So I built a brooder box and kept looking decided what the heck im gonna see what happens with just one so a couple hours ago I took one out and showed it to her she was cooing and took right to it so I grabbed the rest and switched out her eggs they were running all over the place but she was a happy instant Mama. Just checked on her and I could not see a single baby she had all 25 under her. So in case anyone is wondering mama is taking care of 25 babies and I did this all in broad daylight no sneaking in at night

Welcome to BackYardChickens! So glad to have you here in our wonderful community of friendly, helpful, knowledgeable people! And what a WONDERFUL story!! What a wonderful hen! I'd keep her, even if she never lays an egg! If you can, be sure to post pictures of her with all her babies!
