Thank you all for your suggestions about not playing the chasing game at night to get my ducks in the coop at night.

Tonight I went out to put them in, and Zeke and Gabby and my chickens were already all in the Coop, well Izzy my polish was torn she decide that halfway up the ramp was a good resting spot, I think because it was dark and she couldn't see with all the fabulous hair.

however, Pippa and Louie my two Swedish are the ones that give me the hard time, they decided they were going to go into the small coop where my broody hen Luna is, and I had to tuck myself in there and get them.
They are about a month younger than Zeke and Gabby so I am going to assume they just need a little more time to feel more relaxed, 2 months old I found is a very unsure skiddish age with ducks.

I think the trick was I waited until it was actually darker out to go put them in and they decided dark time is the right time.

Well on the way to the house for night- night my ducks saw a rabbit and decided to chase it all the way to the top of the hill. :barnie So just when you think they’re trained, they pull one over on ya!

oh boy, If I am not around they stay in the pen, they have a lot of room and trees and such, because if they free range, there are things that like to fly overhead and there are A Lot of chickens in our neighborhood

I had 2 young females that decided on night in dead of winter they weren't going in. Well behind our home is a steep bank and they got mid way up and wouldn't come down here I sat freezing begging them trying all kinds of treats nothing worked so after an hr. I had to come inside and leave them out there. Needless to say next day and thank goodness they were okay I fixed a fence so that when they came into eat I could keep them from going back out and I was able to herd them into their coop. I never had trouble out of them 2 teenagers again so maybe after it got all quiet and colder during the night they realized it isn't so much fun to stay our by ourselves in the dark.
