Didn't have alot of time yesterday to get anything done, but framed the front in (window). Will hopefully get the back done (and maybe the run side) for the big windows today. Just not enough hours to get things done. Also had the chickens outside for a while for the first time yesterday, they loved it! (I used one of my flight cages on its side).

Very nice job so far! I know what you mean about not enough hours.....everything takes longer than you think it will. I was hoping to get our coop "habitable" this weekend and finished next week, but we're in our second day of rain. Our chicks are 6 weeks old today. (Yours look about 6 weeks old, too.) So, my project today is going to be trying to expand the brooder space in the basement. I have 16 in a 12 square foot brooder, and it's getting too crowded. I want to figure a way to add at least another 6 square feet...hard to do construction while they are in the brooder. I'm afraid of them getting hurt or fighting. If I can get the brooder expanded, that will take a bit of pressure off.

Thank you! actually starting to look like something! lol

Got a little more done, before the rain moved in. Got two of the four window openings framed up. Each wall will have a window (three crank outs, one solid). The one on the run side is a huge double crank out. Getting excited!

Looking good! I was so excited because today I got to paint the coop! We had some bumps as well our first coop blew away during construction (we have horrid straightline winds),so DH started a new one and with his work schedule and the weather it has taken him a month to get as far as he has it now. All that is lacking is the run and roosting boards,he is outside building their nesting boxes now!! I can not wait to get them in their own house and out of mine. They do go in the tractor during the day but in the master bathroom at night.

Thank you! OMG...how awful, the first one blowing away! Mine are in my livingroom, so will be good when they are outside and can have more space. (Although I will miss them inside, love their little peeps! We are putting a baby monitor in the coop so I can hear them in case anything happens during the night.)

Yes we had straight line winds of 75mph blow through and took the first coop right along with it, heartbreaking to say the least. With the winds as strong as they are I am some what worried my flock is going to look like kites when it blows that hard. lol

Make em' little parachutes! lol Hope that does not happen again. Scary stuff!
