Hello everyone, my name is Tiffany, I am from Tucson, AZ and am freshly new to the chicken community! I wanted to raise chickens so myself and my family could enjoy healthy eggs and meat, but I wanted my kids to be able to interact with our birds; in the end, we decided to start at the very beginning (for those who believe the egg came first) and with the help of so much amazing information, we built our own incubator and put 15 eggs in it! Out of those 15, 3 of which were free from a really nice man and his father, 6 are fertile and growing, I know because I cannot stop looking at them with the flashlight! I paid $10. for a dozen of mixed eggs, cochins, frizzle, etc and only three of those were fertile, kinda bummed because my kids and I really wanted to have "crazy" looking chickens; there is always another hatch of course! I cannot believe how addicting this hobby is, I still have about two weeks left for my hatch and already I cannot wait to allow these ones to grow so I can incubate some more! I am looking forward to learning more as we embark on this incredible journey that I never in my life thought I would be on!
