I have a policy of not helping a pipping chick that can't make it on it's own.Sure,sometimes you can help and it will make it out but it's often a weak or undersized adult. Well,this one egg just wouldn't pass quietly and was loud as heck, sooooo....I did what I usually don't and,uh,yeah...I broke him out.I figured he at least had a good set of lungs being able to make that much noise inside the shell,lol.
He was a bit weak and whiny to start but fed him baby-starter,aka, yolk from a boiled egg and 4 hours later he was running w/ the rest of the flock.He's smaller but certainly not lacking in get-up-and-go! Go lil dude,go!
