I rescued this little bird from a friend’s front porch. One week ago, It had a significant injury on the top of its back, that was healing over. It weighed 1.3 lbs.
This bird now weighs 1.8 lbs is eating and drinking great. Vetericyn plus is an amazing product that I spray on its wound twice a day. Feathers are already growing back!
Im wondering if this back injury is consistent with a hawk or other predators pick up? Maybe that’s how it managed to find its way to a city neighborhood? There are no wounds on its belly.
Pullet or cockerel? Age? Breed?
Thank you!

Good job taking care of this little sweetie. Guessing about 8-10 weeks old. Probably a mixed breed. Guessing boy for now, but hard to tell. When all feathers have grown in repost with close up photos of the face and area near the tail (saddle) :)
Thanks so much! I’ll keep you posted!😊

Thanks so much! Yes get
You did a fantastic job saving it! Good job.

It is an Easter egger or olive egger-- looks like it is getting feathers on the legs.

I think it is a bit young to sex definitely, but so far it looks like a pullet.
Yes! Getting feathers on legs and little fluffs on cheeks! I’ll keep you posted! Thanks 😊
