Hi all,

So I'm probably jumping the gun here, but after talking with our City's permitting office, it sounds like we should be able to get one or two more ducks!! :wee

Still have to convince my hubby to expand our flock by one or two (we already have three Indian Runners), so fingers crossed in that department.

In any case, assuming we DO end up getting one or two Cayuga ducklings, what age can we introduce them to our existing flock? They'll be about a week old when we get them, so should we introduce them immediately and hope one of our girls is feeling motherly, or raise them inside and introduce them when they're a month or so?

Thanks for any advice!

What genders are your current ducks. That can help make the decision. A lot of times the drakes don't accept the ducklings.

You’ll still have to introduce slowly and most likely none of your females will feel motherly but I have noticed with my Runners they are such a close knit group and are very accepting so if done right and supervised by the time they are good and feathered in they should be able to be with your girls full time.
