Age for wings to start feathering

lol she is so my favorite. Araucana.. so she will be an interesting lil bugger when she grows up. She was one we worried about when we got her home last night.. not moving much. not eating or drinking. antisocial to the others.... got her warmed up nicely and got her in the group and now she is a firecracker.

Now they are cute!!

I would agree with less than a week. Compared to mine that hatched 1 week ago today, yours have a lot less wing feathers.
Mighty fine looking little chickies! Nice Work!

Thank you all. I wish I could take credit for the good lookin chicks but i didnt hatch them. I purchased em. I did however get to pick the ones we wanted. Oh yeah and I am having one heck of a time designing the coop and run.... 10 chicks... input here please...

4x5 coop 3.5 ft tall at back 4 feet at front with 3 laying nests....

4x13 run (4x5 feet is under the coop for shade) Run is about 4.5 feet high

I know it fits recommended dimensions at a minimum for the coop but I have to be careful to to build to big a structure

Please be nice with criticisms but be honest.

I am still in the design stages so im open to ideas to assist.. perhaps a 2 story???? dont know if that would work..

That's only 2 sq ft per chicken! I would reccomend 4'x10'xhowever tall you want for 10 chickens. But, it also depends on where you live, climate, etc... For my area, I know the chickens will probably spend some cold winter days inside the coop, rather than braving our below freezing winter days (30 degrees at the moment). So, I went a little larger than the reccomended 4 sq ft per chicken (4'x7' coop for 3 chickens = 9.333 sq ft per bird). Part of that though is that I'm using pallet crates to build my coop and they are 4'x3'10" in size.

I am no expert though...my chicks won't even be here until mid-March!

Already redesigned.

they now will get 40 SQ ft inside and 104 Sq ft outside in the run. 3 nesting boxes and around 3 roosts inside and a cpl outside

Thanks for the input.

got ours at Rural King for around 2.59.. jar not included.
Its handy however a bit stiff to open and clean.
Got the water dish that is similar using a mason jar as well.

Or you can buy the whole thing in plastic. I prefer the metal as it cleans better over time. it seems my chics are eating around 8oz a day each from that one. the metal tray takes about a pint (16 oz) and you can use small or larger jars with a standard opening but i wouldnt go above 1 quart unless in plastic.
