I do have drakes.

Ok. When drakes mate they can damage feathers, so come molting time
when their new feathers come in the feathers that where damage will come in white. If that makes sense....I’m not the best at wording things.

Oh yes, my vet has actually told me that damage to the feather follicles can cause pigment changes.

I knew it damaged but I didn't know it changed permanently. I like to think some of it is age based since she is going white around the eyes as well but you might be right!
