I have some Peachicks that are 2 months old, fully feathered and are currently in a pen that is off of the ground. Their pen/cage is located inside a much larger pen with my yearling male. He seems to like them, he stays beside of their pen a lot and always roosts on top of the pen. If he isn't around them, they will chirp until he comes back. I'm wondering if it's ok to let them out into the bigger pen?

I assume the idea that peafowl do not have an immune system for 6 months. Therefore I keep them off the 'dirt' for that long.

I would suggest a wormer to protect them if you do chose to let them out. They can be sensitive birds.

I have 5 babies that live in a 3ft wide x 12 ft long x 6ft high cage that is built inside the house. (big enough for them to get 6 months old)

Hope this helps!!

I keep mine on wire for about 3 months. After the older peacock drop his train, he will be less aggressive. After putting mine on the ground I will start worming.

I have my yearling male in with a hen and her chicks ( I didn't have any where else to go with them at the moment) All have done well, and he helps take care of them, lets them walk all over him and roost under his wing. (I have taken note of the comments re: keeping peachicks on wire, etc... for when the time comes.)
