Age to sex Sebastopols

I know you can vent sex them, search for it but they say it's difficult and not always correct and not the best thing for the animals. Next spring you'll know if they lay eggs or not. I've got 2 one is suppose to be male and other female and there looks to be a difference to the two. One of them "hangs" lower to the ground and is bigger, quieter so I think it's the male.
Otherwise you might want to check with cottage rose, she is the sebbie expert on here!
Don't you just love them?!?!!

Novice Sebbie expert is more like it!

I have a hard time finding the vent let alone palpating it.

Digging through all that dense down is very frustrating.
I can usually tell by Fall by their appearance.
The females tend to have smaller beaks and feet, shorter necks and legs.
The ganders have a more masculine presence about
them but some of them can fool you for a long time.
Also their voices are different.
Ganders have a higher pitched voice although that can be confusing
because the females can be pretty screechie sometimes too.
Ganders often stand head-up, looking about guarding the flock while the females graze.
You have to study your geese daily and then the subtle differences will emerge....hopefully.

These 2 smooth saddleback Sebbies are almost identical but
can you see the subtle difference in size?
I use to think these were 2 ganders.
I'm now thinking the one of the right might be a goose
but not sure yet.

Its not just the angle.
While their heads are almost identical in real life...the one on the left has a longer neck and has a more masculine presense and appearance over all.

Same pair on the left in this pic...
See any differences?

I see that with my two even though they are different breeds (untufted roman/male chinese/female) His neck and face is thicker (which I know is also breed related - he just looks more masculine somehow) and he spends a lot of his time as a sentinel, while she spends most of her time grazing. He'll graze nonstop if I stand up. If I'm sitting down he's constantly looking at .... stuff.
