At what age do meat roosters usually start to show spurs?

What breed of bird are you using for your meat birds? Spurs are a funny one as not all males will develop them and many females do - so there really is no one age.

I have eight birds that were given to me. One Dominecker, four RIR, two White Leghorns, and one black bird. All are the same age. I am guessing they are around 4 months old.

My plan is to keep the largest and eat the rest. At this point the Dominecker and one Leghorn and the black are the largest. These will have the run of the Goat and Donkey pasture. An electric fence will keep them in.

Just keep more than one. Hens do better with a buddy or two.
