I have 6 week old chicks and all 6 are suppose to be pullets. The white maran who started off looking like the lowest on the pecking order is now very aggressive and will just peck the others, pulling out feathers and causing havoc. I have separated her from the others for a night and when I put her back the next day it started all over again. The rest get along fine. Can I break her of that behavior? How long should I separate her?

Can I see a picture of all the chicks? She/he is most likely the dominant chick.

Chick jail. If possible section her off so she can see the others but not be aggressive to them. Give it a day or two and then see if she has calmed down when you let her out with the others. If not, back to jail she goes. It might make a difference if she can see the others playing nice and being free. It worked with one of my hens.

I did separate her from the others but she couldn’t see them. I will try that. Thank you for your reply.
