Aggressive Buff

This Buff is 12 weeks old and is becoming aggressive towards my other 2....is this a hen or a roo?


I got all three as 10 day old chicks. I read that Buffs are gentle...but mine is behaving more like a Roo! They have a large coop area and free roam daily. She/He will chase and fly at the other two with wings and legs extended. She/He even pecks at my feet or hands when I go to open the pen door to let them out to roam. Thoughts please...

At this point, it still looks very much like a pullet to me. Aggressive behavior as young birds does not determine sex, it just means they are trying to get higher in the pecking order. Most cockerels do not show aggression until they are sexually mature.

That looks like a pullet. Someone's got to be the boss in every group, that's not just the domain of males.
