I am new to raising ducks and have just started finding my first eggs. I have two hens and one Drake. Yesterday, when my daughter went out to get the egg, the drake chased her. Today he attacked her and ran at me as well. He’s always been friendly before the hens were laying. What should I do?

Hi and :welcome

Sound like Mr. Drake is being a little over protective of his hens. You're going to have to let him know that you are the one in charge, not him. I have to do this with my drake when he starts this behavior towards his one hen. I pick him up and basically mount him like he does to the hen.....sound funny right! I get on my knees and put him i between my legs and lay my body on him with one hand on his neck and hold his head down flat on the ground - gently of course. I hold this position until he stops fighting it. I let him know that this behavior is not allowed! Then I gently release him. It might take a few times but he will catch on and it should curb his desire to continue. Separation also works too, kinda like a time out for rude behavior! I hope this helps.

And tell your dd not to run but take the broom along with her and stop him in his tracks when he comes at her. Put the broom between her and him and if he still keeps coming to use the broom to sweep him away. Unless she is stout enough to do what @onaharley said for you to do.
