Aggressive Duck (used to like being held)

Sometimes when ducks get a little scared or excited about something they do this weird thing where they start kind of shaking their heads, and make a little charge at you. Mine do this when they're nervous, and other times when I have no idea why. Just be patient and calm around her and try to go off of her cues.
I second this, my girls do it to me when either very excited or anxious- One of my ducks also bites, when very hormonal- she thinks I'm her drake due to imprinting young. I think a lot of behaviours are misinterpreted as aggression.

Your reply reminded me of when one of my pekins was sick and clearly not doing well - she was very irritable and would bite us if we touched her - she got better and her good temper returned. I don't think that's what's going on in this case, but nibbling can occur for all sorts of reasons.

Exactly, Lots of reasons. It wont always be obvious, but I wouldnt be fast to conclude its aggression!

do two ducks count as a flock? I think she is the leader of the other duck :) she is either a dark campbell or a Cayuga. Has the Campbell brown black feathers but a green head and specks of green on tail
It can count as a flock if that's all the 2 of them have ever known. If they have been in a bigger flock reduced down to just the 2 of them, it tends to change into a "roommate" situation where both are equal. This is not always the case but it tends to be that way. If it has always just been the 2 of them then sometimes the stronger personality comes out as "leader". My duck that just passed away and her sister were/are both khaki campbell and then the cayuga that I have already mentioned. My khaki's were never dark enough to confuse with a cayuga. Maybe put up a picture and we can see what you have. It could always be a crossbreed of the 2.

I have more but can’t upload them at the moment sorry!

Very pretty! I don't see a tail curl, so probably female?! I wouldn't worry too much. Ducks all have different personalities and some enjoy touching and are less nervous about being picked up than others. It's not your fault. Just stay calm around them and continue to spend time with them and treat them. They will trust you and that's a great reward!
