Aggressive Duck (used to like being held)

That couls be possible, and every time I’m close with my hands out of my pockets she commits run away. (My iPad doesn’t register what I type sometimes and types other stuff so forgive the random mistakes XD)

No eggs yet, but she sometimes when I’m kneeling she’ll start shaking and then launch herself at me

this is just hormones, excitement, affection, anxiety, etc etc. Not aggression at all!

Ok! another reason why I said aggressive is because when their in their pool, she’ll go WWE (or the duck equivalent: pecking and pulling feathers) on the other duck

this sounds like hormones, water makes ducks pretty hormonal!

Hormones and dominant behaviours
There is a pecking order in ducks just like chickens just done a little different
My mom and dad duck all they need to do is head down and nod and the younger ones move out of the way
Daisy is the queen and peep runs the whole ship
He treats her like a queen but he puts everyone in their place when need be
Nobody is every hurt so I let them do what is natural to them
Even if one is to far from the rest of the group he will chase them back in
I did have a few issues with plucking going on about 4 months
First was the two boys picking on one they wanted to mate she would lay down for them but they didn’t know what they were doing
I had to separate them for a week and it stopped. Then a few weeks later anther girl was being plucked by the boys and the one other girl jumped in. I kept her on her own for a few days and slowly started to let her in with the group and it’s been good since
All was as they hit maturity for mate
My guess is your ducks are around 4 months
3 months for drake feather and 4.5-5 for eggs Laying

Also I dont know if this is an issue but the black duck will peck at the other ducks feet when they’re both in the pool

Mine do this too
It’s something moving in the water
I actually just had one of my drakes get his Boy part bit because it was dangling in the water
After they mate it will stay out 10-30 second type thing and my poor guy got a bite
It caused it to stay down for days
We had him checked at the vets and put on medicam for pain and swelling as well as triple antibiotic ointment cream on it
Kept him separated from the others for the past week it’s gone back up but falls when he has a poo so I have been scared to put him with his group in case it gets A bite again
I even have my girls Try yo mount the other girls this is a dominance thing
Takes a bit to understand duck behaviour but after awhile you start to relax as long as nobody is getting hurt badly

If nobody is getting hurt I wouldn’t worry to much
I’m guessing that one is trying to be the leader of the group
