I have 2 Pekin ducks, a male and female. The male is getting really aggressive. He charges everyone that comes near him and constantly starts stuff with my dog. Ex. Dog will be laying in the grass minding his own business and the duck will charge him and peck him. Then of course the dog retaliates.

Is there anything I can do? They are 17/18 weeks old.

Just being a typical drake some worse than others. I wouldn't let him and the dog be in the same area though or dog may just kill him. Take the broom with you when you go in his area if he comes after any one put the broom between him and you or a child or who ever, if that doesn't stop him sweep him off to the side with the broom, your not hitting him just sweeping him out of the way. Don't have any other contact with him like trying to pet him. Just be sure to always have the broom handy when you have to be around him. Most of the time we can teach them it's unacceptable behavior to attack those that feed them but it takes time. When fall gets here and mating is over things should begin to settle down but he needs to know who the dominant people are in his flock and it ain't him it's you[family] even dog dog is second in command to you.

Thank you! Thankfully the dog ignores him for the most part or runs away. I'll try the broom thing, thanks! My DD is really upset he's "trying to eat her" so hopefully he calms down!

Most important thing is being consistent at all times. Let us know how the training goes. also make yourself look big to always stand up tall around him and teach your DD to do the same, the drake needs to see her as above him in the pecking order.
