Welcome to BYC. Show her that you are dominant. Wear gloves if necessary, but force her to the ground firmly when she becomes aggressive. Hold her subdued until she stops struggling. If she attacks again, repeat until she gives up. She now views you as an equal.

Do no give up - you are bigger than her.

I humbly ask to be allowed to differ.

You do not want to be her "EQUAL" your objective is to become the chicken or hen at the top of the pecking order, thus becoming the boss of all bosses.

She now views the OP as an equal. It's all about changing that perception. Chickengeorge, no part of what I suggested leads to equal. It is all about proving dominance. Not all that difficult with a hen. If it were a rooster, I would suggest the crockpot.
